In the past couple of years, Texas wedding trends have varied as many wedding couples have chosen to host alternative, smaller weddings or just plain postpone them altogether.

Now, as the world begins to open more and more, especially in Texas. The return of fun, engaging weddings are coming back. Couples, together with their friends and families, are looking to celebrate as large groups again in a big way!

That said, they’re coming back with a twist! Many traditions are being exchanged in favor of more unique and personalized approaches for truly memorable wedding experiences. 

Here are five Texas wedding trends we predict we’ll start seeing in 2022. 

#1 – Fun, Bold Colors

Few things can set the tone of a wedding better than the strategic use of color. This includes the bridesmaid’s dress colors, decorations, floral bouquets & arrangements, and more. 

Expect to see the use of bright, deep, bold colors in 2022. Greens, in all their variations (including teal) and reds/purples (like maroon) will be big. There will also be a resurgence in the always classy options like classic blue with gold (or silver), and elegant black & white. 

#2 – Alternative Bridal Gowns 

We are starting to see more and more personal flair making its way into what brides are wearing – making the gown less traditional and more personally meaningful / showcasing more personality. Also expect to see some more color being added to the gowns – if not just entirely different colors altogether!

This also includes alternative options for reception gowns. Brides are trending towards long flowing gowns and bustles for the ceremony, and then doing a quick change to something more comfortable for the reception. This saves the wedding dress from the wear and tear of a reception party and frees up the bride to get her groove on in something classy but fun!

#3 – It’s Party Time! 

Speaking of getting their groove on, couples are planning more interactive wedding ceremonies and receptions. As large groups are more and more acceptable in many places, people want to celebrate.

This year, the most common underlying theme of weddings will be fun! Couples are looking to create a happy, relaxing, and engaging atmosphere and celebrate being able to gather again. We expect big party atmospheres with great entertainment, games and busy dance floors this year!

#4 – New Forms of Entertainment

While we all love a good dance party (trust us, we’re usually the first ones on and the last ones off the dance floor ourselves!!) we also predict a surge of additional and more interactive entertainment throughout many receptions this year!

Expect to see more live entertainment (in a variety of genres), lots of food (including taco bars, food trucks, and even snack bags/late-night snack stations). There will also be fun photo-booths with instant polaroids, and even mechanical bull riding!

The focus is shifting towards ways to create even more memorable and unique memories that everyone will enjoy for years to come.

#5 – Fantastic Venues

And last in the lineup in Texas wedding trends, the Dallas/Fort Worth area is full of amazing and unique wedding venues and you no longer have to look too far to find your perfect fit. There has been a surge in new and unique venues all over DFW. And now, more than ever, the variety in the style of venue to choose from is enormous. 

You can expect the venues to play an even bigger role in 2022 weddings as couples are able to work with venues that really fit their personality and personal style.
