Every moment on your wedding day is precious and deserves to be remembered for generations to come. However, traditional wedding day first looks are not for everyone. Knowing that, I wanted to share some of my personal favorite wedding First Look alternatives that I’ve seen over the years. Will you use any?
Private First Looks
The thought of walking down the aisle during your first look may be a little nerve-wracking. However, having a private first look can give you the magic of the moment, without any nerves! With just you and your sweetheart, you can enjoy a sacred moment together to reconnect and get excited to say your vows. Whether you meet in a private room or a secret garden, you are sure to have a heartfelt moment!

First Touch
A well-loved wedding first-look alternative is a First Touch. This is where you can still have a private moment before the ceremony together, just without seeing each other. Typically the bride and groom will stand on opposite sides of the same open door or on either side of the corner of a wall. Being able to reach around to hold hands and share a few words while keeping the surprise of the first look for the ceremony.
First Prayer
Creating sacred moments looks different for every wedding day. But for couples who connect spiritually, this alternative could be for you! A first prayer can be done during a first look or a first touch. And allows you to connect in a way that is spiritually meaningful and fulfilling for both of you. Not to mention, the emotions that accompany are always so genuine and beautiful.
First Read
Consider connecting on an intellectual and emotional level with a first read! Before your ceremony read love notes, private vows or poetry from your sweetheart. This can be done with a first look, or without your fiancé in a private space like a bridal suite. Either way, you will have a sentimental moment as well as a memento to hold onto and look back on for decades to come.
The first moments you have together on your wedding day should be beyond special and intimate. After all, it will set the tone for the rest of the day! So, which wedding first-look alternatives will you be using?
