Must Have Wedding Photography

Your wedding day is an extraordinary chapter in the book of your love story. It’s a whirlwind of laughter, tears, and heart-melting moments that deserve to be frozen in time. That’s where your wedding photography swoops in!

As your trusty Dallas wedding photographer, I’ve witnessed countless love stories unfold before my lens. And let me tell you, there are some photographs that are simply non-negotiable. These are the moments that will make your heart skip a beat every time you flip through your cherished wedding album.

Sure, we all know the importance of capturing that magical first kiss (it’s practically a wedding commandment!) and all the beautiful candid moments. But let’s dive deeper into some of my personal favorite must-have photographs that will ignite your memories for decades to come!

First Look

First looks are trending stronger than ever – and for good reason! This tradition to see each other privately before the ceremony creates a very intimate and special moment for the couple before the whirlwind of the day begins. If you’re curious to learn more about this sweet new tradition, check out my blog post on the Wedding Day First Look. It breaks down exactly what it is and 5 reasons why you might consider including it on your own wedding day! The benefits may surprise you!

Don’t want to see each other before the aisle? But curious about some unique ways you could still interact with one another before the ceremony? Check out some First Look Alternatives!

First Look Reaction with Parents or Friends

In addition to the first look with your partner, consider capturing the heartfelt moments with those closest to you; aka your parents, grandparents and/or wedding party. These emotional encounters before the ceremony showcase the raw love and support shared between you and your loved ones. From the tearful embraces with parents to the joyful reactions of friends. These first looks add an extra layer of sentimentality to your wedding album. Honoring all of the beautiful relationships that have shaped you. These images become cherished reminders of the love, family bonds, and lifelong friendships that will continue to uplift and support you on your journey!

Walking Back Up the Aisle Together

Your first moments as husband and wife are those steps back up the aisle. And let me tell you, the joy, raw emotion and elation on your face will be absolutely and radiantly beautiful! Walking back up the aisle are amazing photos because we capture not only your joy but also the faces of all your closest family and friends surrounding and cheering you on!

Epic Nighttime Shot

Another photo that I just love is an epic/dramatic/cinematic nighttime shot. Picture this: the celebration is dying down, we’re nearing the end of the party and all that’s left is you and your partner.

A nighttime shot is a great opportunity for me, as the photographer, to get creative, and really try to represent the full emotion of the day in just one, or a series of, finishing photos. These portraits are so dynamic that you’ll have to hang them up on your wall.

The Send-Off

As the celebration comes to an end, the exit of the newlyweds is a fun and emotional moment. Whether it’s a shower of confetti, a sparkler-lit path, or a romantic getaway car, the grand finale of your wedding deserves to be captured. These images will embody the excitement and anticipation as you officially embark on your journey as a married couple together!

Seriously, the best part of my job is being able to capture all those special moments that matter most to you. My last two cents on this topic is to remember to always communicate with your photographer! Make a plan to discuss your expectations and must-have photos before your big day! This will ensure you are getting the images you’ve been dreaming of.

Are you ready to take the leap and ensure that your own wedding photography is nothing short of amazing? I’d love to chat with you about your special day and see if we might be a great fit! Reach out and let’s talk!
