In the few days leading up to this session at Point Vicente Lighthouse we had been experiencing abnormally cold, cloudy and windy weather for Southern California. But its as if the world was smiling down on Kristen & Paul, because Thursday morning came around. And we were suddenly blessed with an incredibly beautiful and truly perfect day for their engagement shoot.
Not only were the locations at Point Vicente Lighthouse stunning, but I don’t think anyone could disagree with me when I say Kristen looked like a movie star (Paul, you are one lucky man)! These two together are so beautiful, inside and out. It was such a joy and an honor getting to know them this past week.
Point Vicente Lighthouse Engagement Pictures
From him: “We first met at work in the hospital. Something about her got my attention right away. At first, I seriously thought I had no chance at dating her. I didn’t think I was her type so I knew I had to break my way in and win her over as being close friends. As time went on, I began to realize that I had a chance after all. By God’s blessing and timing, we got along really well and here we are today.”
From him: “Our first date was at the OC Fair back in 2013. (From her: “Where we ate and drank every single thing in site!). We went together and saw J Boog and Common Kings play at the Hanger. (From her: “He and I love their songs!”). It was the perfect night I had envisioned. I even came away winning a couple of big stuffed animals for her which she has till this day. We plan to use all the stuffed animals we won in years past for our future baby and place them in the nursery room.”
Dating
From him: “I told myself before meeting my fiancée, the next girl I meet and date, that’s the girl I feel is going to captivate and win my heart over. Sure enough, she won me over and more. Back in early 2015, I already had the sense of feeling that she was the one. I knew I wanted to propose to her but I wanted to make it very special.”
From her: “After dating for only a month, I told my roommate he’s the first guy I could ever picture myself marrying because I loved his family and I loved him. I realized I would do anything for him and I wanted to be with him every day. He loves God, family, basketball, music, working out, etc like I do. He is cleaner than me and better at budgeting money than I. Which was a first for me as women are usually the one to play that role. Most importantly, he’s a hard worker and he’s loving so I can’t wait to have children with him!”
From her: “He is loving, hardworking and determined. I especially love his dependability. He’s always there for me, even when I’m not the nicest. Has saved me 3 times with car trouble since we’ve started dating! And he always comes to my rescue and he never complains.”
From him: “I love that she is hardworking, intelligent and responsible. She’s also very family oriented and family always comes first for her.”
How beautiful is this ring?!
The Proposal
From him: “September 4th, 2015. That was the day I asked Kristen to be with me for the rest of my life. Originally, I thought of making this proposal an intimate one between me and her only. But then I decided to include our close friends in it. I rented out a private room for 20 of our close friends at Flemings in Los Angeles. Each one of our friends had a part in making this proposal special. From decorating the room with flowers, balloons, making props, and having the music ready and playing as I brought Kristen in blind folded. (From her: “They decorated it so beautifully with big bouquets and pictures of us everywhere! It was so perfect!).
I hired a photographer that day to capture every second of it which also made it very special. The best part of the proposal in my opinion was the fact that she didn’t expect any of this. I even flew down her best friend from the Bay which completely surprised the heck out of her, lol. (Her: “It is impossible to get all my friends in one building at the same time so I applaud his effort.”). From the nerves walking in the restaurant, to the proposal, to the amazing dinner we shared with our friends, everything came out perfect!”
Wedding
From him: “What I’m looking forward to most about the wedding is saying “I do” in front of both of our families and seeing everything come together after all of this work we’re putting in.”
From her: “I am most looking forward to seeing all my family and friends, walking down the aisle and committing myself to my life partner and best friend (and the food and dancing)!”
Kristen & Paul, enjoy every second of being engaged! We are so excited to be a part of this time in your life and cannot wait for your wedding!! <3 Especially after this stunning session at Point Vicente Lighthouse!
