The beautiful Prather Park in Dallas was the backdrop to this sweet couple’s Engagement Session! Believe it or not, Sierra and Jonathan met when they were just kids. Sierra was best friends with his little sister growing up and had always had a crush on him. But, in typical older brother fashion, Jonathan and his friends just loved to pick on them.

It took until they were both in college for them to reconnect and for the sparks to start flying. Sierra says she had a party one day while she was home for the summer, he showed up, and that was that. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Isn’t this just the perfect plot for a cute rom-com?! So sweet!

The Proposal

From Sierra: “We were in Cancun Mexico for a vacation and to celebrate his birthday. On the last night of the trip we went off the resort with a sweet couple we met there. We had dinner and on the way back to the hotel the couple started fighting. She said she had lost her ring on the beach! So we hightailed it to the beach, it’s like 10pm and we’re all looking around with our flashlights. Suddenly, I turn around and there he is on one knee!”

Ha! I just loved this story – what a surprise!

Prather Park

Dallas has so many incredible photo locations and parks, but we ultimately chose Prather Park because these two adore their city, but also love nature and water. So, it was the perfect combination! Prather Park is tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood (Highland Park) and is an absolute hidden gem. From the gorgeous lush trees to the unique stone/textured bridges & stairs and the cute stream that flows through it… it is a stunning background and we can’t wait to shoot here again soon!
