There’s something undeniably special about witnessing a couple whose connection runs bone deep—who have weathered life’s changes and grown even closer because of it. That was exactly the feeling I had when capturing Natalie and Mark’s Richardson park engagement session. From the picturesque waterfall to the serene surroundings of the wooded trees, this spot was a beautiful reflection of their love story: intimate, peaceful and enduring.
Natalie + Mark’s Love Story
Natalie and Mark’s love story began back in 2015 when they met while working together at a restaurant in Springfield, Virginia. What started as coworkers quickly blossomed into something more. A few days after meeting, they went on their first official date—a simple Italian dinner followed by the movie Ex Machina. While the movie wasn’t their first choice, the evening became memorable for how effortlessly they clicked. Afterward, they spent time together watching YouTube videos in Mark’s car, laughing and talking until Natalie’s dad texted, urging her to wrap up the date (a moment they both chuckle about to this day, ha!)
Within a few weeks, Natalie had to leave for Texas to attend Texas A&M, and the two embarked on a long-distance relationship. But the distance didn’t weaken their bond. In fact, over time, it only made them stronger. When a mutual friend eventually offered Mark a job and a place to stay in Dallas, he jumped at the chance to close the gap and start a new life closer to Natalie. They continued the, now shorter, but still long-ish distance while she was in college, traveling almost every weekend to be together. Which was a beautiful testament to their love and bond.
With their families are spread out between South Texas and Idaho, Mark and Natalie have now built their own special life here in DFW together. They are partners in every sense of the word, finding joy in the little moments they share. Whether that’s playing video games side-by-side on separate TVs or pausing bad movies every ten seconds to critique them. It’s these quirky, everyday things that make their love so genuine and fun. They consider each other home – and there’s really no better feeling than that.
A Unique Richardson Park Engagement Session
For their engagement session, they chose Prairie Creek Park, a location that represents something special for them. Mark, having grown up in Michigan, has a deep appreciation for the woods and water. So, this unique park in Richardson TX offered the perfect backdrop. The waterfall, the towering trees, and the rocks above the falls created an atmosphere that felt just right-natural, beautiful, and timeless, much like their love.
As we wandered through the park, stopping for moments by the waterfall and along the stone paths, it was clear just how solid Mark and Natalie are as a couple. They’ve built a relationship on trust, understanding, and a shared sense of adventure and silliness. Their bond is strong, and their love is unwavering—it’s them against the world, in the best way possible. They’re simply each other’s safe place, and that’s something incredibly beautiful to witness.
Mark describes Natalie as creative and intelligent. Someone he can talk to for hours on end. While Natalie admires Mark’s steady, level-headed nature, always keeping them grounded. Together, they’ve created a beautiful life that’s full of love and laughter.
