What can I say about these two? They are adorable, genuinely kind-hearted and sassy with a capital S — and I LOVE it!! This Oakglen Engagement shoot was so fun! Just being in their presence is enough to make you fall in love with them. It is abundantly clear how much they adore each other. And I am so honored to have been able to shoot their engagement photos.
Bryant & Jacob
These two love birds met in March of 2013 when they were cast in the same show in Fullerton – “Legally Blonde” (which they were fabulous in, in case you were wondering!). Bryant clarifies: “I auditioned and he was brought in 2 weeks later. Because we needed another male actor, preferably one who could dance and carry a tune. We settled for him.”
First Date
From Bryant: “Our first date was at IHOP after rehearsal one night and we discussed what we wanted in a relationship in general. So stipulations were already drawn up so there would be no surprises later on! He had cinnamon swirl pancakes, I believe.“
Proposal
From Bryant: “The proposal took months of planning on my part as I was the one who proposed. We flew to New York to vacation. He’d never been but that was my 3rd time. Due to Jacob wanting to overdose on a Broadway experience, I had to give him an abbreviated landmark tour due to time constraints. After a week in NY, we visited my father in Maryland and drove to DC August 13, 2015. I had initially planned to propose on the 12th, but it rained that day. So, I told Jacob’s friend who relocated to DC of my plans so she would be there to document it.
Finally we arrived at the Lincoln Memorial in the exact spot where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. After shooing away tourists, of course, I got down on one knee and asked Jacob to be my husband.”
Jacob: “Bryant surprised me by having my best friend meet us there. So, I was completely side tracked with the excitement of seeing my best friend! I didn’t notice Bryant walk away and get down on one knee. He said my name and I turned around and he was on one knee on top of the “I Have A Dream” plaque. I froze and was completely shocked. A group of tourists all surrounded us and were recording and taking pictures. He said a whole bunch of stuff I didn’t hear. The shock was overwhelming! But, I remember him asking if I would marry him.”
Bryant: “After my dad answered yes for him, Jacob respond with a tearful ‘yes’. I chose that specific spot as I believe it symbolizes where we have been, where we are, and where we will continue to go as a society.“
Oakglen Engagement
From Jacob: “What I love most about him is how accepting he is. Someone can have different views or beliefs and he will be respectful and kind. He is hilarious and always cracking jokes! Usually at my expense, but it’s all in fun! He is humble and selfless. He loves me deeply and is always willing to stand up for me and what he feels is right.”
From Bryant: “I love his personality, his Matinee Idol looks, and that he loves unconditionally,. Sometimes to a fault, but you can never have too much love in this world I guess.“
From Jacob: “I love how comfortable I am with him. From day one, it never felt forced or awkward. I love that I can talk to him about anything and he listens and responds honestly. We are always joking and teasing each other and it keeps the relationship fresh and fun. We share many of the same interests and hobbies. Like theater and movies, and can always find something fun to do together.”
From Bryant: “Working full time jobs, and with my commute, it’s hard at times to have alone time. But when we do theater shows together, though tiring due to getting home late from rehearsal after a long day at work. It affords us moments to connect doing something we love. Oh, and we love food. We are dreading our inevitable return to the gym.“
I wish you two all the happiness in the world!!!
