Samuel and Lorna shared their vows at The Big White Barn and I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer. Let’s turn the spotlight to this lovely couple on their wedding day!

Meeting “The One”

Samuel grew up on a goat farm near Decatur. But this beautiful couple didn’t meet farming! Samuel and Lorna actually met in college—she’s studying English and him Computer Science. And when they got to know each other, they said it seemed like they had known each other for a lifetime.

When Samuel decided he was ready to propose, he faced just one problem: Lorna’s family lives out in Carson City. So, to share the moment with them, he proposed to her in Tahoe while on a visit to her hometown – which was so very thoughtful. She said yes! And since then, these two have been eager to tie the knot and start a life together.

The Big White Barn Decatur Wedding Photography

There’s a fun story as to why they chose The Big White Barn as their wedding venue! Samuel is actually the son of the sweet venue manager, Faith Adams. The Big White Barn was originally brainstormed as a venue for their homeschool co-op to use for dances and events, but they quickly opened it up for weddings too! To be married there now really brings a level of nostalgia and meaning for Samuel.

What’s more, the twinkle lights and warm wood of the Big White Barn provided a beautiful backdrop for the whimsical elements of Samuel and Lorna’s wedding: those deep greens, lanterns, and adorable mushrooms. A Heartfelt “I Do”

Lorna wanted the whole event to be stress-free, so she and Samuel prioritized an intimate “I do” with their closest family and friends. It was great to see them relaxed and enjoying the company of the people who love them the most. 

The ceremony in The Big White Barn was heartfelt and comfortable, and you can tell these two are instantly at peace when they’re together. Their connection was something really beautiful to witness. 

It was such a pleasure to get to know them and to capture their special moments. I wish them all the best in their new adventure together!
