Azle Texas Villa Wedding | Rachel + Daniel

Have you ever heard of an Amazon love story? Well, you’re about to!

These two met back in 2020. Rachel was promoted and moved to the building Daniel had been working in for years. As she was trying to get her bearings, he was the one manager who continued to go out of his way to help her get settled. (This could be, in part, due to the fact that Daniel says he knew she was the one from the day he met her. That she was the kindest and most lovely person he’d ever met. And that it didn’t take long for him to realize how special she was.) Over time, she ended up owing him at least 40 different favors and they finally decided to go out for drinks. There was an instant attraction, connection and sense of comfort around each other; and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

The Proposal

From Him:

“Let me tell you about the most stressful and hectic day that I’ve ever had! Ha!

(From her: “We were at my Aunt’s house. I thought we were going to be celebrating my family’s January birthdays, but I learned that was just a ploy to get me there.“) I had bought the ring several months earlier and had been secretly planning things with her sisters. The original plan was to distract Rachel by having her sister ask her to run to the store to get champagne with her. That would have bought us about 45 minutes to decorate and prepare. We’d set everything up perfectly and it was a great plan until she responded: “hell no, I drove two hours to get here I’m not getting back in a car before I leave”. Her sister was horrified and we didn’t know what to do.

So we had little secret family meetings throughout the day. We did our best to work around her being there and still keeping it a surprise. The kids were blowing up balloons in the garage. Some adults were prepping decorations in the back room. We did as much as we could and eventually had to come up with a way to get her out of the house for at least 15 mins. After options B, C, and D were all down the drain, we finally got her cousins to walk her to the end of the driveway and stall by asking her for advice about boys. That bought enough time for me to get dressed and everyone else to run around and get everything in place.

From The Bride

From her: “When I came back around the corner, my family was all standing in two rows holding candles – forming an aisle for me to walk down. The end of the ‘aisle’ led to the pier over my Aunt’s lake, where Daniel was waiting in a suit. With music playing, he proposed right there at sunset.

“It ended perfectly and I got to ask my best friend to marry me. Easiest decision of my life and I can’t wait to spend my life with her!”

The Wedding

They chose Stoney Ridge Villa in Azle, TX, for the beautiful views, variety of photo backdrop options and the flexibility of event spaces. They went with a dusty blue color theme for their wedding party. While keeping the rest of the decor soft greenery with white flowers. Allowing the venue’s natural beauty and uniqueness to shine all on its own!

For all the dog lovers, you’ll appreciate the addition of their favorite little girl, Goldie (their sweet chihuahua), who was the cutest little addition to their wedding party!

Wedding Surprises

Daniel is the romantic, always planning some kind of surprise to dote on her. Rachel has said, “he is very thoughtful, and is always showing me he loves me with different gestures”. And he held absolutely nothing back for their wedding! Not only did he write, direct and star in a cute episode of “The Office”. (Since she is a big fan of the show and that’s where they work, met and fell in love). He recruited their friends to join in and based the “episode” on their life and working at Amazon. Then, to top it off; he also got a handful of the actual actors to send her sweet and funny video messages and compiled it all into one absolutely epic video!

Now, as if that weren’t enough of a surprise and sign of his love and admiration for her. Since Rachel’s parents are no longer with us, Daniel couldn’t imagine a scenario where he would dance with his mom while she sat on the sidelines. So, he came up with another plan to surprise her with a dad that was worthy of a Parent Dance with his queen: Homer Simpson. (The Simpsons happen to be one of Rachel’s biggest loves!) It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture and Rachel’s face said it all!

Their first dance to “Shut Up and Dance” was an absolute highlight to the evening and such a great party-starter! They slayed their choreographed dance and it was such a fun turn of events to have a fast-paced and full-of-personality First Dance. The evening was ended by a killer fireworks show by PrestoTechnics (one of the awesome bonuses of getting married at this Azle Texas villa wedding venue – the ability to have your own private rooftop fireworks show)! Their guests sent them off with a sparkler exit down the steps to their getaway car and headed off to their Mediterranean cruise honeymoon!

Rachel + Daniel’s Azle Texas villa wedding story

They told me once that they describe their relationship as “Best Friend Forever” and “Fun!”. The two laugh all the time and take everything on as a team. They love to explore new things, places and adventures together and always have the best time – regardless of what they’re doing. And I think their wedding was such a perfect representation and celebration of that love!

Rachel and Daniel, I’m so over-the-moon happy that you two found each other. And am thrilled beyond words to have been witness to your incredible day! What you have is so special and I truly couldn’t be happier for the two of you! Congratulations!!
