These two first met through mutual friends around 12 years ago and have been dating since Christmas Eve of 2010. Now, after 8+ years of dating, they have officially begun their new chapter as Mr & Mrs! But before we dive into their Griffith House wedding… I wanted to share their proposal story, in their own words, because it’s so sweet!
The Proposal
From Matt: “Around June of 2015, we started planning a 7-day cruise to Alaska (for May of 2016). As our vacation approached I couldn’t help but think about the scenery and the opportunity to propose to this beautiful woman that made 6 years seem like a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, I was not able to make that happen during our trip; however, I knew then what I wanted.
About 6 months after our cruise to Alaska, I received a significant raise from work. So I saved for her ring. When I got it, I asked for her father’s permission & I asked my sister to help me with the proposal. As Christina and I worked one Tuesday afternoon, my sister and my niece decorated a Mission Inn hotel room that I had reserved. After work, I told Christina that “I had a gift certificate to Duane’s Restaurant (at the Mission Inn) and we should use it before it expires.” She agreed and towards the end of the delicious meal I proceeded to convince her to take the following day off because “the hotel had a good weekday rate for a room.” She agreed again.
To not risk sounding cheesy, I chose to not write down what I was going to say. Nervously inching my way to the room, my brain scrambled to think of the most romantic thing I could think of. Yet, when I opened the door I, myself, was taken back by my sister’s decorating ability. The room said it all. (From Christina: “There were 9 dozen roses and a huge Will You Marry Me sign, with candles and rose petals everywhere. It was very romantic. Everything a girl dreams of!)
She stared for some time at the sign. When she finally turned around, I was on one knee with a ring in a box that was reflecting light. (My mom found a ring box that lit up when you opened it – From Christina: “That was the best part! LOL”). I said “Christina, I love you so much! Will you marry me?” and she said “Yes! Of course!””
Cue the tears…
I then asked Christina when she knew that Matt was “the one” for her… and her response made me teary-eyed. She said: “When I realized that if he were to ever be the father of my children, and something happened where I was no longer on this earth with my babies, that I could rest knowing, without a doubt, that he would always be there to love and support them.”
Is that not one of the sweetest things you’ve ever heard!?
The Wedding Day
These two beautiful souls got married at The Griffith House in Anaheim. This private venue was absolutely gorgeous. From the cute Spanish-styled house that added a nice vintage-touch to the day, to the endless greenery and pops of colored flowers surrounding the property, it served as the perfect little oasis for both their ceremony and reception.
Matt and his groomsmen looked very handsome in their black and grey suits. And Christina looked stunning in her long-sleeve lace Bellasposa wedding dress while her beautiful bridesmaids surrounded her in lilac gowns. Not to mention their bouquets were the perfect added touch, very classy with just a pop of color.
From their beautiful ceremony to the heartfelt and funny speeches during the reception… the day was filled with endless smiles, laughter (even a few happy tears) and so much love! I couldn’t be more honored to have captured this special day for these two.
Congratulations again, Christina and Matt!! I wish you two all the love and happiness in the world!

Here are a few of my personal favorites from their wedding day. I hope you enjoy!
(Also, Matt’s sweet mom surprised him with a cigar bar during the reception… we were able to have a little fun and get creative with those! So be sure to scroll to the end to see what we captured!)
