Kacie and Ryan are celebrating their 5 year dating anniversary this month! While we took these engagement photos in Colleyville last year, and they officially got married earlier this year – I don’t believe it’s ever too late to celebrate love! So, here is the origin of the sweet love story that is Kacie + Ryan!
Origin Story
These two first met back in 2015 when Ryan started working at a men’s clothing store that Kacie’s friend happened to manage. Kacie said that during Ryan’s first week on the job, her friend texted her stating that he had “just met her future husband”. So, of course, she had to stop by and see for herself. Fast forward 5 years and they’re now married – how wild is that!?
They hit it off very quickly and both admit that they knew pretty quickly they were the one for each other!
Ryan: “I knew early on that she was the one. Within a month or two of dating, I knew.”
Kacie: “I truly feel like I knew pretty quickly, and my feelings just continued to solidify over time. I don’t know that there was a specific moment that brought me to the realization, but more of an appreciation for all of Ryan’s personality traits and how he made me feel. I was insecure when I first met Ryan. When we first started dating, I knew he was amazing, and often thought he was too good for me. Throughout our entire relationship, Ryan has continued to make me feel worthy and has totally changed how I view myself. He has always made me feel like I am enough and that we are deserving of each other. And that is only something a husband can do. I also had a vision in my head of what my husband would be like, and then I met Ryan. He completely surpassed every single expectation I ever held for a significant other and is better than I could have imagined!”
Their Favorite Things
Ryan: “She is selfless, ambitious, and a leader. I admire her caring attitude towards everyone and her love of her family.”
Kacie: “I so admire his patience and ability to forgive. Ryan is so kind and patient with everyone he meets. He is extremely level-headed and not easily disturbed. When he is wronged, he is quick to forgive and not the type to hold a grudge.”
The Proposal
From him: “We went to South Padre Island with her family and I decided to ask her there because the beach is her favorite place!“
From her: “While we were there, my mom said she wanted to go take pictures on the beach. We all got ready and went outside and my mom suggested Ryan and I go first. We snapped a couple of pictures when all of a sudden Ryan turned to me and said: “Kacie…“ (which he never calls me, so I realized this was the moment). I immediately burst into (happy) tears and fell to my knees. I still have no clue what Ryan said or if I even said yes, I just jumped into his arms and continued to cry. It was such an exciting moment.”
Haha – they are so stinkin’ cute!! (And don’t worry Kacie, you’re not alone there!)
Colleyville Park Engagement Photos
Kacie and Ryan love greenery and nature, so naturally, we chose the beautiful Colleyville Nature Center for their engagement session. Between the gorgeous glowing trees at golden hour, the romantic bridge in the middle of the park, and the epic sunset that burst over the lake that evening – I don’t think I could have wished for a better location or evening for their beautiful session!
I still can’t help but smile and feel an immense sense of warmth looking back through their images. They radiate so much kindness, authenticity, and a deep love and passion for one another. Just being in their presence is a breath of fresh air! I truly enjoyed every second with these two and wish them both so much love and happiness as they continue their journey together!
