Stefani + Kyle’s Origin Story

I first met these two in a coffee shop several months prior to their engagement session. We talked all about their love story, their vision for the wedding and then got to talking about life in general. Towards the end of the meeting, they asked about my own (pretty non-existent) love life. They had met through the dating app “Coffee Meets Bagel” and told me I really needed to give it a try. I hadn’t heard of that particular one, but had tried my fair share of apps in the past and had already decided they weren’t for me. Pam insisted that this one was different; Rob was the very first person she connected with on the app. She told me to trust her, that there was just something different about this one. I said I’d think about it.

Fast forward several months to their engagement session; I was still single. I also hadn’t given the app a second thought and had decided to take my attention off dating entirely to focus on my career. At some point during the session though, Pam asked whether I was still single. I confessed that I was and that I hadn’t tried the app. She insisted again that I give it a try, reiterating that there was just something special/different about this particular one. By the end of the session, she managed to convince me to at least give it a try; what did I have to lose?

Call it Fate

That weekend, I downloaded the app – with zero expectations. But it’s as though Pam sent all her good luck/juju/vibes my way! Because, like her, the very first person I connected with also happened to be the last; an incredibly cute and sweet-hearted guy from Michigan, who had just moved out to CA a few months prior and also happened to be a photographer… named Kyle. And now here we are 5 years and tons of adventures later planning our very own wedding!

It’s funny how things work out sometimes and I am grateful every day that Pam was so insistent. Thank you, Pam & Rob! If it weren’t for meeting you and being part of your love story/journey, I wouldn’t have this very special one of my own.
